“But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.”
Steve Brown of Key Life Ministries, is without a doubt, one of my favorite Christian evangelists and authors. In fact, he has spoken in our church several times over the past few years. He has some wonderful thoughts on Easter, and I always love his “unconventional” perspective. He states: “The problem with Easter is that it is a day dedicated to something that should be recognized as part of our lives naturally. Resurrection becomes stale, a one-day celebration filled with baskets and eggs and images of the stone rolled from the tomb.” Steve call us to the daily challenge of being a “stone roller”. We are to constantly be on the lookout for those who are broken and unloved – “to care and heal and bring Resurrection to those whom the rest of the world has forgotten”. Steve challenges us to look for the possibilities and hope in every one we see each day. As Christians we are called to connect and love others – even those we may even detest. He challenges us to walk with others who are hurting and suffering in their own “Good Fridays”.
